Baby's First Foods

These are some fun initial foods for baby, some may surprise you! Remember please (please!) that these foods should be pureed—super duper pureed—soft MUSH.

Red: applesauce, kidney beans, beef (pureed, yes, but super duper carefully pureed)
Yellow: bananas, squash, garbanzo beans
Green: peas, avocado, green beans, pears

White/Brown: tofu, wheat cereal, quinoa cereal, millet cereal,
chicken/pork (again, pureed!), cheese, whole milk yogurt
Orange: carrots, sweet potatoes
Blue/Purple: plums, prunes

Overall, your baby should have a well rounded diet building as you transition into solid foods. Balance includes:
  • Breast milk and/or formula 
  • Veggies 
  • Fruits 
  • Meats 
  • Cereal
